C e r e m o n i e s of the Order
Ceremonies mark special events throughout the life of a warrior. They can celebrate major transitions, such as ascending to another level or forming a branch, commemorate your accomplishment when you acquire a new weapon, or simply make the beginning or end of our meetings more formal. We can also conduct a ceremony around a theme, such as consortship or the naming of a child that you wish to immortalize in thought, words, or song. Whatever its purpose, every ceremony enables warriors to share in a notable part of tlhIngan history.
An effective ceremony is part history and part ritual, perhaps visibly echoing long past events that our forbearers took part in at times beyond our personal memory. They can remind participants of the great values of honor, glory, loyalty, spirituality, and fraternity which are available to them along way of the warrior.
We strive to set a precedent or standard with our ceremonies in such a way that a warrior’s life will be made fuller and richer. We do this using the Spirit, Code and Laws, common to all tlhInganmey, and to reinforce a warrior’s own positive values and beliefs.. In our program, we believe the legendary path of honor is the only way to the warrior’s life.
A ceremony is very simple, effective way to build solidarity, raise morale and, boost participation and honor among members. Our ceremonies are tlhIngan centred, honouring and respecting our collective culture and values. We can hold a ceremony almost anywhere, although most of our ceremonies are performed in conjunction with conventions. There is likely to be a suitable venue or location nearby to meet our needs.
